What we do
Five divisions. One licensed operator.
Explosives and blasting services are the licensed core of our operations. Mining, gemstones and equipment are built around this foundation — enabling us to maintain reliable extraction schedules and a dependable supply chain without relying solely on third-party shipments.
Licensed to manufacture explosives in Nigeria.
Our explosives manufacturing licence (Civil) authorises local production of electric and non-electric detonators, cast boosters, detonating cord and cartridge explosives. It is the second explosives licence we hold, alongside the magazine licence the company was built around.
The licence has been granted. The manufacturing facility has not yet been sited, and production has not commenced. We are working through siting and commissioning now, and talking to operators about forward supply agreements in the meantime.
Nigeria’s mining and construction sectors import almost all of their blasting consumables. That means long lead times, exposure to currency movement, and schedules that slip when a shipment does. Local production shortens that chain.

News & insights
What we are saying.
AnnouncementNew Concord is licensed to manufacture explosives in Nigeria
Our explosives manufacturing licence (Civil) authorises local production of electric and non-electric detonators, cast boosters, detonating cord and cartridge explosives.
InsightWhat an explosives magazine licence actually requires
Storage capacity is the least of it. A short account of what a licensed magazine has to demonstrate, and why so few operators hold one.
InsightWhy we cut gemstones in Nigeria
Most Nigerian stones leave the country rough and come back as someone else’s margin. Our lapidary operation exists to close that gap.
